A Rutgers exchange student from China expressed that he had never seen anything like the amount of garbage that was strewn along the Raritan River waterfront during the clean up portion of the Our Plastic Waters eco-art workshop.

Visiting Artists
Visiting artists and some friends check out the group show before the opening reception begins. Some of the artists featured in the group show traveled from as far as Vermont, Oregon, and Ottowa, Canada to attend the opening reception event.
Veronica Winford
Veronica Winford, owner of Tiger Art Supply, and collaborator on the Water Is Life exhibit series. Veronica also contributed her own version of Thunderbird Woman to the group art show.
Turkey
Turkey made out of recycled presciption pill bottles, corks and other plastic waste by artist Lisa Bagwell at the Our Plastic Waters exhibit during the Water Is Life exhibit series.
Trash or Art Supplies?
Garbage collected during the Our Plastic Waters program in the pre-workshop river clean up. These plastic bottles were separated from the garbage collected during the clean up to be used as materials for a community eco-art sculpture project.

Raíces Director and co-found Francisco G. Gómez tells a story about the waters from the Cuban Orisha tradition. This story was later expanded upon for the Raíces Folkloric Ensemble presentation "Tale of Two Waters"
