Description

Original block prints by Leigh Kern going up on display for the Water Is Life exhibit series group art show.

Original block prints submitted:

1. Niigaani-gichigami - Symbol of the Niigaani-gichigami Collective and Gratitude Walk/Festival

2. Our Love is like Mountains - Created to honour best friend Jasmine Bostock, for the Mountain Protection work her, her family, and her fellow Indigenous Land Defenders did for their territory in Hawaii.

3. She Shakes and Showers - Created after the Great Lakes Water Walk 2017 to honour Grandmother Josephine Mandamin and the Water Walkers for their sacrifice, love, and prayers for the Water.

4. Guarded - Guarded was created after the artist experienced traumatic violence, as a reminder to ""guard one's fire"" and be tender towards one's self in the healing process.

5. Protect the Process - Butterflies are resilient, flexible, and strong. This piece reflects the need to protect the fragile work of germination, growth, and healing.
