Title A name given to the resource A Home for Culture: Grupo Senzala at Raíces Description An account of the resource On October 22, 2011, Raíces Cultural Center Visual Arts hosted the Emerging Artists Group Show guest curated by local artist Elaine Morales. In addition to the exhibit of artwork by a group of seven local emerging artists, Elaine coordinated a cultural demonstration capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form that includes elements of martial arts, music, song, education, sports, culture and community. After the demonstration, members of Grupo Senzala continued filling the Raíces studio with their songs and rhythms, playing capoeira into the night.
