Description
Photographs of Silent Knight and Monk.
Excerpt from the Roots Music Exhibit Timeline:
"And then one day, the "shell" was broken, the figurative armor let down. Sitting in an apartment in Staten Island, after talking for hours about life, philosophy, religion, and everything under the sun, I shared what I had been working on. One of my best friends, who would become a brother, Monk, was the first to listen. Then, on the spot, we decided to record, a mixture of improv, freestyle, and written raps over whatever beats played from cassette tapes."
