In addition, there are hardier bushes within this section that have been allowed to regenerate on their own, such as parcha (passionflower) and gandules (pigeon peas). As Don Luis practices succession planting throughout the year, only sections of the farm in in crop production at any given time, with other sections left to renew and regenerate between plantings.
